Hodge Podge

Here are some things that have happened over the past couple months...

To say we got a lot of snow this winter is probably the understatement of the century. The boys enjoyed riding their snow tubes down our makeshift track in the back yard and this was after a good amount had even melted away!!

The boys had fun going on our annual trek to the Car show...below they are being entertained by some really "homely looking birds". The boys however thought they were pretty cool though...except Roman needed some extra convincing....he was a bit frightened at first.

After our 2 weeks being snow bound John decided to take us all to Disney on Ice. The boys had a good time seeing all their favorite characters....and it was SO nice to get out of the house!!!

Romans favorite..."Buzz Light Ear" (he cant pronounce the "ya" sound yet)

Welcome to the Jungle.....

Roman turned 3 on December 27 and it only took us about a month to have a little party for him. Oh well, he still had fun and I think the other kids did too...so thats all that matters right?!

Here are some pictures from the Jungle party...

I love this picture, mostly because Roman did the thumbs up without being prompted and Ethan got a crazy face in the bottom right which I think is hysterical!

Getting ready to chow down on his monkey, the ears are already gone.

The Monkeys were definitely a favorite...I have to say these were so fun to make and SO EASY....just check out http://www.bettycrocker.com/baking if you are interested. The 3 year old all decked out with a chocolate mustache!

Cant believe my baby is 3!!

Another Romanism...

Roman: "He's paying him a butt"
Mommy: What did you say?
Roman: "He's paying him a BUTT" a little louder and more forcefull this time
Mommy: With confused look on her face, "Umm do you mean...pain in the butt?"
Roman: Excited that someone figured out what he is saying.."Yeah!!, he's paying him a butt!"
Nice!!

Christmas 2009

Christmas has come and gone and so has 2009...life seems to be going by way to fast. Here's some snap shots of our Christmas in Ashburn.Botanical gardens are quickly becoming a family tradition for us. We go every year to see the train expo and enjoy walking through all the different plant habitat rooms that they have there. This year we had to battle the snow to do it but it was so worth it. G&G Davis have been with us for this trek two years in a row! For all you political buffs I think I may have even caught sight of Kay Bailey Hutchenson while we there...(perhaps she needed a break from the madness happening inside the capital building which is located just a stones throw from the gardens)

It was fun to see Washington DC under a blanket of white...
The boys eagerly awaiting the chance to open their Christmas Eve gifts (another tradtion)
First they opened their new ornament...pretty much everything for these two is train related...so of course their ornaments are no different...
"Yay!!! new jammies!!"

Sporting their new monster truck jammies...
The boys had a wonderful Christmas...they enjoyed having Gramma and Grampa Davis with us to share in the day. They loved opening their gifts and it was fun to watch the joy on their faces and so far they still believe in Santa so alls well that ends well. Hope you all had a VERY Merry CHRISTmas too!

The view from my phone

I havent been real good at updating this blog lately, I blame the "busy"ness of life (always blame something else right its the american way?) However, I have documented some of it all with my new and improved camera/phone and tonight I finally learned how to get it all off and onto my computer with the help of something called bluetooth...(whatever that is) so here are some snap shots of the past couple months courtesy of the amazing technology that I cant seem to keep up with.

The last day the pools were open...snif snif

Haircuts before the first day of school!

One award that Rocco will always win is "The Best Dental patient ever." The Hygenist could not believe how good and easy he was. It helps that his wide mouth could almost fit a chrysler. I will also add that this talent does NOT come from me.

We always have fun with our neighbor Megan at the park!
On the way back from Lancaster (I already blogged about this little trip) we ran into football traffic (ravens vs. bengals) getting out so we opted to get off the highway (which was a parking lot) and eat dinner at the Baltimore harbor. I cannot believe their are no fences there...it made me so nervous that one of my children (lets be honest, I am talking about Roman here) would fall into the murky water below.
In the grocery store I just had to take this picture because this was a childhood favorite thing. I would mix the Milo with powdered milk and eat it for a snack! It was yummy (at least back then, now it seems a little disgusting)
The boys always love a trip to the Home Depot.
We all got cozy in the living room. Rocco made beds for everyone and we all snuggled in.
While Rocco was playing T-ball Roman got to play at the near by park...which was very convenient when we were at that particular field.
We went to the Lucketts Town fair and Rocco got to ride his first horse (it has been a pony in the past) Roman wanted nothing to do with this.
This was taken during one of our many trips to the outlets. They have rides and a small playground which serve as pretty good bribes so I can get some shopping done.
Roman and Snoopy at the outlets.
Megan and the boys

This picture is what I have as my wallpaper on my phone.
Roman feeding his buddy Micah

Rocco at school sitting at his table next to Valery who he says is NOT a very nice person (apparently she gets into some trouble but she always seems very sweet when I am in there)
Here is me and my friend Jess at my first NFL game, specifically the Redskins. What a great game it was! So fun for me to get out without any of my boys (although I would have happily gone with John had he been available) and had a day to enjoy my favorite sport with a good friend.
