Reindeers hoofs...

Here is a snippet of Rocco's performance at preschool...this is the only segment that he really got into....he mostly stood there and made funny faces the whole time. FYI--He is in the middle with a red santa hat on.

The First Thanksgiving pre-school style...

Enter first Rocco and classmate as the Mayflower...

walking with a boat was hard!

but they found their spot....

After all the Indians and Pilgrims entered they sang some songs...

Then in true Indian and Pilgrim style--we enjoyed a yummy Thanksgiving feast...and of course Rocco with his signature face...
Happy Thanksgiving to all who read! We are truely thankful for your friendship in our lives!
God Bless!!

Documenting the funny sayings...

OK, I am not much of a scrapbooker...or documenter for that matter...all I have is this blog and some very neglected baby books..but I do want to remember some of the funny things my kids have said..so here goes...(sorry to bore any of you who have already heard this stuff)

Rocco:

Pointing to a mosquito bite on his arm..."Look Mommy, I have Leopard Seed!"

After getting fitted for his Aunt Aubreys wedding..."When do I get to wear my speedo?"

When in trouble with his father..."Mom, how do I get rid of Daddy?"

When annoyed with his brother.... "No more Roman for a week!" (stolen from the Berenstain Bears-no more TV for a week)

Also when annoyed with his brother..."Mom, I think Roman needs a nap"

When trying to convince his grandparents to do something for him..."Come on Fellers!" (I think that is stolen from Veggie tales or Berenstain Bears)

Roman: (short list currently since he is at the beginning stages of talking)

Pointing to his fathers sunglasses..."asses"

When hungry and pointing to food....I want YUMMY!!

In general I just love his little voice and everything he says is so darn cute right now just because of the way he says it...which is not good because even when he is being sassy, I definitely think that is hilarious and cute too..and I know I shouldn't. Maybe its because he is the youngest and as my older siblings have told me countless times through the years..the baby always gets away with murder...I could be in trouble here.

The Rocco and Roman guide on how to properly enjoy fall weather...

First you rake up a nice big pile of leaves...lucky for us we have 1 tree which provides this necessary ingredient.

Then, you run and jump into it..see above.

If you feel like you need more leaves, the rake also is useful for knocking more down (but it also helps to have a bench to stand on so you can reach)

Next you ram the pile of leaves with a big truck.....then its back to square one--more raking..

and always remember to be extra careful because sometimes the leaves can jump up and get you.

The Suprise visit of a Fairy Princess....

I hear this loud knocking on my door...oh no..who is trying to solicit me this time?!!!
A Fairy princess at my door....can I have 3 wishes please? or better yet...entertain my kids for the weekend!!!! SWEET!!!

The fairy princess shed her costume to rip out some pumpkin guts...

Daddy also got the shock of his life when the Fairy Princess, who got back in costume after the pumpkin carving to welcome him home.

I even managed to to look something like the Cat in the Hat..I can't remember where I got the hat...but it came in handy...although my son saw another cat in the hat costume and informed me.."See Mom, that is what the Cat in the Hat is supposed to look like" kids are so honest...and at least I tried, which is more than I can say for the kid who showed up at my door in no costume whatsoever and held out his bag expecting a handout...now that is lame/shameless (not sure which, perhaps both)

my little turtle...yes, it is a hand me down costume from his big bro but he seemed to like it...and even more so with the Cat in the Hat hat...

The pirate had a blast trick or treating and had double the treat with candy AND Granny and Lennie to walk around with....

Rainy day activities...

Monkey on the treadmill!

Trip to PA

Aunt Doris flew into to Dulles airport and we picked her up and she stayed with us for two days...the boys were ecstatic to have a new playmate.
Here they are feeding her a very yummy meal
We then drove up to Lancaster to visit with my parents a little bit...I wasnt so good at documenting with the camera because I was a single parent and I was trying to not lose a child...
Here Rocco was enjoying a fluffer nutter (peanut butter and marshmallow fluff) It doesnt have to be that messy but with him it always is.
Aunt Doris and Roman got in lots of snuggles. He has started to call every "older" woman "Nanny" (translation-granny) and so was very confused with Aunt Doris and Gramma in the same house but he loved them both and wanted them all the time (since he knows he can get away with a lot more with them-so little but yet so smart)

The Wedding

Rocco and his cousin Daniel posing in their tuxes...dont they look handsome -- I realize that I am a little biased but any little boy looks cute in a tuxedo right?

Thank goodness for little Brooklyn..not sure if I spelled her name right but she kept those boys in order and looked absolutely stunning in the process... The gorgeous bride and the gorgeous mom walking down the isle....no need to say anything else here....

and yes, Roman was at the wedding too and had a ball with his cousin Ruby..except when he hugged her so tight and then fell on top of her as they both crashed to the ground and Rubys head got knocked a good one..not my proudest moment as a mom but he was trying to be loving...so it was hard to reprimand him for excessive zeal and gusto in the hug giving..anyway I think Ruby's thick and gorgeous hair gave some protection and all survived the ordeal.

Here is the fam...with the picturesque lake in the background...it really was so fun and I am a little sad that it is over...its not every day I get my hair and nails done and get to wear a pretty dress..in fact its only when I am in weddings...

Milestones...part deux

Rocco started soccer this weekend...

He got the general idea and was practicing getting the ball in the goal

After about 30 minutes of practice games where the kids just sort of played around kicking there ball--organized chaos-- (it is the Under 5 group after all) they actually put these kids in a game situation...and here our son finally got the ball and was dribbling down the field to score...the pride on my face was overflowing...

uh oh...into each life some adversity arises...

and takes what you hold dear and runs away with it....you know it is an interesting conundrum because until this point we have taught him that sharing is good and taking things from someone else is bad...so we shouldnt be surprised when he yells in frustration "Hey! he took it from me!!" Guess we are going to have to start teaching the finer points of sportsmanship now...
Well, he managed to get over it and still pose like a soccer pro for picture day...

Milestones...

Rocco is now going to preschool....and Roman wanted to send him off with the highest form of flattery (imitation)
Mom looks a little more excited than he does...but trust me that was SO not the case!
Waiting in line...Rocco hates waiting and was already annoyed....."why is this line taking so long?!"

Meeting the director...who is a bundle of life!! Very good with preschoolers..and worth the wait in line.

Here he met his wonderful teacher for the first time....
then he found his name in the apple bin...
All morning the class was full of activity as kids played and generally had a good time...even Rocco..what a relief!!!
