Backyard discovery

We recently discovered that we have a natural ant farm living under our makeshift patio. Which provided some fascinating entertainment for R&R below.

I am always surprised at the nature we find in our smallish fenced in backyard. At any rate its fun to watch the boys learn about the world around them.

Couldnt you just watch this for hours? Ants are truelly amazing insects, did you know that there are over 10,000 different species of these little insects? Hopefully not all of them are in our backyard...but I never cease to be amazed when I look at even the smallest of creations what an amazing world God created.

She uses beans and Chili to make it
My Mom always says, "Lets go in the Basement and play"
My Mom is funny when she does funny stuff
When I am at school, my mom watches my brother

There you have it...glad to know I am funny when I am doing funny stuff...there will come a time when I will be an embarressment to him when trying to be funny so for now, I'll take it!

Aunt Aubrey's visit

John's younger sister Aubrey stopped by and stayed with us for a night on her travels.....

The boys love having visiters and assume that everyone that comes is here to play with them...
and Aunt Aubrey was no exception!!! here she is trying to work and the boys are mobbing her....

I finally had to physically intervene so that her computer would not be destroyed. She made quite an impression with her visit to the point that whenever they hear someone come in the door they tell me that it is probably Aunt Aubrey...but it usually ends up being Daddy....

Thanks for stopping by Aunt Aubrey....we were happy to let you see a sneak peak of what your life will be like in a couple years...

Attack of Little "r"

Just had to post this little video of Roman playing with his buddy Lennie. It doesnt take much to amuse boys.

Spring is here!!!

Its soccer season again YAY! and with fear and trembling I took Rocco to his first practice/game. Last year he really was not quite on board with how things went...
but this year, we had active participation on all fronts..here he is laying an egg and even making chicken sounds.

During the warm up, he began being "Dash" from the incredibles...whatever works to get him moving right?!

He played sharks and minnows and never got eaten (might have something to do with not playing in bounds-oh well)

Roman came along, apparently its lucky for me he even had shoes on, because I obviously never checked before we left...(note: I was a single parent since John had a photography engagement)
Here is the "enemy" that he was chasing down and zapping with his pretend zapper gun. He did manage to kick the ball a few times in the process so I was happy. The best part of all this was he was red in the face and tired by the end. Win/win in my book! So glad spring is here!!!

Easter outfits...getting this picture was a nightmare (I'll spare you the details) so this is as good as it gets right now...

Looking OH so angelic here....looks can be deceiving I know--haha but generally my Big R is a sweetie..in fact he kept coming over to give me kisses...

Here is a snipet of his performace...this is the all the kids favorite song. Even the audience gets into it.
